On 25 May 2018, The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a new, European-wide law, which replaces the Data Protection Act 1998 in the UK, came into force.
Freestyle IT are committed to responsibly collecting, processing and storing personal information in line with the GDPR. We strive to maintain a high level of privacy, security and transparency. We regularly carry out reviews of the information which we hold in our database, checking permissions are in place and reviewing policies, processes and our in-house systems.
Where necessary we will carry out a DPIA (Data Protection Impact Assessment) to identify, minimise and manage the privacy and compliance risks of new projects and policies, whilst allowing the aims of the project to be met where possible.
Demonstrating our commitment to GDPR
Working with the Data Support Agency, we have worked through the 12 components of compliance with the GDPR and have made changes to meet the new e-Privacy Regulation, going forward.
