March 22nd, was a big day for our Director, Guy Wright.
In a show of support for the company’s Charity of the Year, Naomi House & Jacksplace, Guy took part in their Jail & Bail event.
He was ‘locked up’ in Basingstoke Council Chambers for the day, together with Naomi House & Jacksplace’s very own Director of Fundraising, Paul Morgan, who undertook his own fundraising challenge.
Speaking to the participants …
Guy said “My team talked me into taking on this challenge for our Charity of the Year. I was appalled by the crime that I was falsely accused of. I am glad that I got the opportunity to prove my innocence. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me exceed my original target and raise £1,375! I would encourage others to take part in this event and support such a worthwhile cause next year!”
Paul commented “Jail & Bail was a moment of frivolous fun for teams of all sizes. None of my team had alerted me to the forfeits that were staggered throughout the day, to encourage us to hit our target of £999. The support from the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, together with the Hampshire Constabulary and all those who tweeted and donated was magnificent. Truly a fun fundraiser, with a difference, that gets everyone involved!”
Mayor of Basingstoke, Cllr Seán Keating, oversaw the day, adding, “It was a pleasure to host the Naomi House & Jacksplace Jail & Bail fundraising event. Everyone had fun, there was much laughter in the Parlour and it was all for an excellent Charity.”
Thanks to the wonderful support of our colleagues, friends and family, partners and customers, Guy is currently at 137% of his original target! Putting us in the top 3% of fundraisers (out of 40266) for March, on JustGiving!
